After more than five years in the making, Sharjah's largest mosque finally opened its doors in 2019. This impressive Dh300 million architectural marvel spans 185,806 square meters and can host over 25,000 worshippers. Inside, there's room for 5,000 people, including a dedicated seating area for 610 women.

This mosque isn't just a place of worship; it's a magnificent symbol of faith and a must-see for anyone visiting Sharjah. The structure is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens and serene water fountains, creating a peaceful atmosphere. Its domes, minarets, and columns showcase a distinct Islamic architectural style that's truly captivating. Step inside the main prayer hall to find arched windows adorned with stained glass, walls inscribed with Quranic verses, a grand chandelier hanging in the center, and plush red carpeting underfoot. The mosque also features a gift shop, cafeteria, and open areas, with spaces thoughtfully designed for non-Muslim visitors.

One of the mosque's highlights is its extensive library, which houses a treasure trove of Islamic literature. This collection hall is like a time capsule, filled with books and antiques from various Islamic eras. It's a haven for non-Muslim visitors and knowledge enthusiasts from around the globe. If you have a love for history or architecture, you'll find this place an enriching experience. Sharjah itself is known for its commitment to preserving culture and history, often hosting exhibitions and events that bring these elements to life.
