Spread across 140 acres in Papago Park, Arizona, the Desert Botanical Garden was opened in 1937 by the Arizona Cactus and Native Flora Society and established at the current site in 1939. The garden is home to more than 50,000 plants that include as many as 139 endangered or rare species.
